The PAX: Vega, Iceman, Sniff, Bluegrass, Cat Daddy, Airball, Abraham
Perfect conditions & a beautiful sunrise (God is such a showoff) greeted the Magnificent Seven who gathered in the gloom despite the fact that they already knew who was Qing the workout and what YHC was planning. But, in the immortal words of an old Roy Hudgens football player “they ain’t scared and they ain’t nervous much.” The PAX have come so far, toughened up so much, and gotten so dadgum cocky in the last year that no workout scares them much anymore. They think they can do just about anything. And they’re right. Proved it this morning.
SSH X 15 in cadence
Peter Parker X 10 in cadence
Parker Peter X 10 in cadence
IST X 15 in cadence
Catcher squats X ??? not in cadence (this was a disaster. the Q couldn’t even count, much less stay in cadence)
Shoulder tap merkins X 10 in cadence
Head to the Shed
Speed Inclines, Declines, & Dips X 10
Rinse & Repeat
(No one could keep up with Bluegrass and there was a reason for this. The Big Guy wimped out on the pre-run so he arrived at bootcamp with a nasty combination of humility, embarrassment, defensiveness, and resolve to prove to the rest of us that he is not, despite his late arrival, a wimp after all. Okay Bluey, you blew us away. We’re convinced. Besides, you’re too big a to pick on anyway.)
The Route begins
After the brief little warmup we set out on the Route 66. It was the normal thing except, for some reason no one will ever be able to explain, the Q had the PAX run the stadium steps right smack in the middle of the Route.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Let’s leave it at that.
The exercises along the Route were YHC’s favorites
Merkins, lunges, big boy sit-ups, mountain climbers, LBCs, burpees.
Quizzes along the way were thrown in for 2 reasons: to give the PAX a much needed break and to re-inforce the core values, mission, and history of F3Nation.
What are our 5 core values? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
1) free of charge
2) open to all men
3) held out doors, rain or shine, hot or cold
4) peer led
5) ends with a Circle of Trust
What is the mission of F3? To plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership.
When was F3 founded? 1/1/11
Where was F3 founded? A. G. Middle School in Charlotte, NC
By whom was F3 founded? Dave Redding (Dredd) & Tim Whitmire (OBT)
What are the 4 phases of life that transform a man from a SadClown to HIM (High Impact Man)? Get Right, Live Right, Lead Right, Leave Right.
Mercifully, we all made it back to the flag and finished the Route. Covered almost 3 miles and did 396 reps of those exercises.
Just a great day. Beautiful conditions, great men to workout with & be inspired by, and a tough Route (mainly because of throwing in those doggone stadium steps) that challenged us and made us better.
Announcements: There were announcements. Wish I could remember them.
Deuteronomy 2:7, “These forty years the Lord your God has been with you and you have not lacked anything.”
Nope, YHC has not lacked anything in almost 35 years of doing ministry, in 40 years of marriage, nor in 60 years of living. God. Keeps. His. Promises.
Vega has the Q on Tuesday. It will be tough. Come get you some and get better.
